Raúl Esparza is a two-time Tony nominated actor who plays Alfredo Aldarisio in "The Fun in Funeral" and "Bitter Sweets". Among the roles he is known for is Jon in Jonathan Larson's (Rent) tick, tick... BOOM!, his Tony award nominated role as Philip Sallon in the Boy George musical Taboo, Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and he recently received critical acclaim and another Tony nod for his stint as Robert in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Company. He played the role of Lenny in the Broadway mounting of Harold Pinter's The Homecoming in December 2007.

As he discussed in a 2006 New York Times interview, Esparza is bisexual, and separated from his wife because of conflicts over his sexual orientation. [1]
